Job description :
Responsibilities:
• Legal support for rapidly scaling business and operations of a major IT multinational in China. Having a broad, generalist corporate/commercial and operational background is preferred. Portfolio may include transactional work; Labor / Employment; Intellectual Property; Litigation; Public Policy areas.
• Immersion into and understanding of the business departments that he/she will be supporting. Integration with a global Legal team, including the existing China Legal team.
• Initiate and carry projects and work with relative little supervision.
• Work with clients and colleagues on processes, infrastructure, legal forms, etc.
• Formulate and conduct training of colleagues.
• Manage outside counsel in an effective, efficient manner that maximizes value-add.
• Conduct legal research (published materials, offline industry feedback, and oral inquiries with authorities).
• Draft, negotiate, and manage legal documents.
• Proficient in translating documentation between English and Chinese.

Qualifications :
Requirements/competencies:
• Deep understanding of China corporate/commercial law landscape. Five to seven years of practical experience in China corporate/commercial context.
• Proactive, takes ownership and responsibility for tasks, drives results. Ability to learn on the fly. Managing ambiguity of disparate client groups.
• Will energetically keep pace with a fast-moving business. Can marry excellent technical legal skills with control and compliance considerations with results-oriented business needs.
