Job description :
Role purpose:
* To serve as competent resource person in the area of monetary policy communications, and provide secretariat services to the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and Monetary policy Working Group (MPWG)
Principal accountabilities:
* To provide the efficient secretariat services to the MPC and MPWG:
- Ensure the smooth preparation of arrangements for all MPC and MPWG meetings
- Deliver high quality drafts of the MPC and MPWG meeting’s minutes
* To assist the Manager in helping the Department formulate an effective monetary policy communications strategy. This will include identifying and alerting the Department on best practices in monetary policy communications by benchmarking against other central banks.
* Coordinate and consolidate contributions from different sections of JASM into cohesive and well-written drafts for the Bank’s regular publications (e.g. Monthly Statistical Bulletin, Quarterly Bulletin and Annual Report) and ad-hoc publications (e.g. BNM anniversary publications).
* To be alert on developments in the domestic and global markets and provide timely feedback on events and market reactions/sentiments that have an impact on the conduct of monetary policy.
* To keep abreast with current issues in monetary communications and assist the Department in formulating an effective monetary communications strategy.
* To provide quality input for speeches and preparations by the Bank’s Management and JASM’s senior staff, as well as comments on papers on monetary policy.
* Deliver high quality and timely communication materials designed to increase public understanding of the Bank’s role in formulating monetary policy. These materials include backgrounders for the Bank’s stakeholders in the form of website information, leaflets, audiovisual products, etc.

Qualifications :
Requirements:
* Candidate must possess at least a Masters Degree / Bachelor Degree (at least a 2nd Class Upper or equivalent) or professional qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics or IT.
* Credits in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Modern Mathematics at SPM/SPMV Level.
* Ability to write well with an excellent command of English will be an added advantage.
* Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
* 3 years experience in AML/CFT and managing stakeholder in particular Law Enforcement Agencies, Supervisory and Regulatory Authorities and Reporting Institutions.
* Applicants with certificate in CFIP will have an added advantage.
* Applicants must be willing to work in Kuala Lumpur.
