Job description :
Role Overview:
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Global Supply Chain Manager with planning and executing the strategic objectives through the optimization of manufacturing resources for all externally produced products. In addition, this position will also be assisting with the implementation of the manufacturing/co-manufacturing strategies to deliver products at the least landed cost. In execution of its role, the incumbent will interact with regional and global executive levels and cross functional teams and help lead cross functional implementation teams charged with commercialization, production start-ups and cost reduction events.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Identify and build a network of contract manufacturers for a wide range of products so capability and capacity are available for future needs. Coordination with various departments to ensure readiness for future product releases.
* Assist in negotiating contracts and work with the Legal Department to develop contract structure and strategy. Also, ensure that current operational methodologies adhere to all contractual obligations and that the vital business interests are protected and met.
* Implement cost containment initiatives and driving least landed costs for externally produced products. This included driving cost reduction roadmaps to meet company's gross margin goal.
* Review reasonableness of pricing structures via competitive bidding, document detailed product costing and develop the key components of costs for labor and overhead.
* Responsible for the performance evaluation of Contract Manufacturers. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations such as on time production and shipment, meeting quality expectations, flexibility, implementation of new systems etc.
* Implement manufacturing strategy to deliver products at the least landed cost. This includes identifying optimal manufacturing sites by interacting with Manufacturing, R&D, Logistics, Marketing, QA, Legal and counterparts.
* Analyze internal vs external manufacturing costs, including development of financial models (overhead absorption, direct and variable costs, total delivered cost optimization, etc.) and present recommendations to senior management.
* Develop annual and long term strategic plans: capacity analysis vs. plan/actual sales.
* Participate in new product development to ensure the products exceed quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost requirements
* Manage a wide variety of situations through a number of different internal and external disciplines: Revenue Attainment, Legal, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Process Safety, Plant Engineering, Product Development, Planning, and Deployment.
* Manage category threatening situations. Assist in managing legal and supply chain issues to minimize business impact.
* Help with the management of new product initiatives, including fast track manufacturing processes, evaluation of supply base, RFP process, vendor selection, and cradle to grave operations project management.
* Develop or possess proficiency in use of ERP/PDM software as tool for managing prices, Purchase Orders and Contracts.

Qualifications :
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor degree in Business, Manufacturing, Electronics or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a related field.
* Possess strategic thinking skills and the ability to perform critical analysis and perform financial interpretation.
* Strong analytical, interpersonal and project management skills.
* Ability to build and foster teams, gain commitment from others over whom he/she has no direct authority.
* Working knowledge of Logistics and movement of materials around the world and overall landed costs.
* Knowledge of BOM and finished goods costs for inbound/outbound materials as well as supplier capabilities and locations.
* Understanding of manufacturing systems including MPS and MRP operating systems.
* Able to read and write in English and a second language is preferable
* Ability to travel internationally
