Job description :
We’re looking for a developer with experience in PHP and MySQL running on an Apache platform. In this role your job would be to take requirements and translate them into new PHP applications or modifications to existing applications. Design and HTML/CSS will be largely handled by a designer, but you will be responsible for working to integrate the presentation layer and the application layer.
We would prefer someone with PHP5 experience and background in framework/MVC programming. Experience with javascript/AJAX functionality is also required. You’ll be working a lot with open source applications like WordPress, Pligg, ExpressionEngine and the like, but you’ll also be required to build applications from scratch and modify existing applications, so a breadth of experience is necessary.

Qualifications :
We realize that candidates will be stronger in some areas that others, but some level of proficiency in the following skills is required:
* Excellent PHP4/PHP5 with MVC/OOP experience
* Javascript frameworks (jQuery, Prototype, etc)
* Familiarity with working on open source applications (CMS, blogs, forums, etc)
* Some Apache knowledge, particularly settings common to customizing web applications
* MySQL database design and manipulation
* Working with APIs Web Services (REST/SOAP)
* HTML/CSS
* SVN
* Ability to navigate a linux environment (basic shell commands)

Experience :
The following specialties would be nice, but aren’t required:
* Amazon EC2/Cloud Computing
* Familiarity with WordPress, Pligg, ExpressionEngine and/or vBulletin
* Experience writing reporting applications dealing with user activity
