Job description :
We’re looking for a web designer with experience with all aspects of web design. The ideal candidate will have experience creating new and attractive designs from client input as well as manipulating designs provided. This covers everything from creating logos in Illustrator to creating design templates in Photoshop and then cutting them up and creating the necessary HTML, CSS and sometimes javascript to marry the design to a web application.
Some of the work will involve creating icons, logos and the like, but a good deal of the job will consist of creating new designs for web applications and then skinning the applications, often common open source applications such as WordPress, ExpressionEngine or Pligg. The job will require you to work closely with an in-house web developer to handle all the design needs of the application.

Qualifications :
We realize that all candidates are stronger in some areas than others, but proficiency in the following skills is required:
* Strong Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illutsrator, Fireworks, etc)
* Non-WYSIWYG IDEs (Eclipse, Aptana, etc)
* Strong HTML/CSS
* Good understanding of User Interface Design
* Strong understanding of vector artwork and raster artwork and when to use one or the other
* Familiarity with skinning common applications (e.g. WordPress, vBulletin, ExpressionEngine)
* Working knowledge of real design concepts (kerning, color balance, negative space, etc)
* Some Javascript

Experience :
The following skills would be nice, but are not required:
* Familiarity with a web development language (PHP, Ruby, ASP, etc)
* Familiarity integrating the presentation layer with the application via AJAX methods
* Flash
* Familiarity with print design (Pantone matching, color limitation, etc)
