Training Manager

Job description :
The Training Manager will supervise the work of project support staff. Responsibilities: 1. Line manages support and administrative staff falling under his/her supervision and supervises the work of training partners 2. Coordinate the development of training and capacity building activities and support materials and ensure that they are applicable to the Vietnamese garment sector needs 3. Oversee, coordinate and facilitate a range of remediation training and capacity building initiatives including classroom based training activities for improvement purposes 4. Participate in the Management Team and the preparation of periodic implementation reports, work plans, and technical progress reports 5. Provide training support to Better Work Enterprise Advisors 6. Liaise with the ILO training and capacity building specialist to ensure quality of service provision and sharing of materials and best practices 7. Liaise and maintain contacts with international buyers, training partner organisations and other program partners on a range of training and capacity building and labour law related matters 8. Monitor the quality of delivery of the training programmes and provide regular feedback to the service provider 9. Collaborate with technical specialists and consultants on various project activities 10. Establish and help maintain relevant databases, and collect, organize and collate information and disseminate information when required 11. Participate in the briefing of parties interested in project activities, including the media, academics and other stakeholders 12. Assist with monitoring and evaluation of project implementations as requested by the CTA 13. Other duties as required by the CTA
 
Qualifications :
Job Requirement: • Completion of high school education supplemented by technical level or university course in a related field. A post-graduate qualification is preferred. • At least 5 years work experience in a capacity building role, including one year with an international agency. • Good knowledge of English and Vietnamese.
 
Experience :
Required Competencies 1. Understanding of issues and principles of social dialogue and the local labour law and regulations 2. Thorough knowledge of program planning, implementation, and evaluation principles, practices and procedures 3. Very good knowledge of training techniques and methods, ability to develop training materials, and conduct training courses 4. Ability to work with word processing and computer software packages required for work and other software packages for producing information materials 5. Strong drafting skills and demonstrated ability to prepare reports 6. Ability to work in a team and to work under pressure and with minimal supervision 7. Good analytical skills 8. Good supervisory skills, ability to provide reasoned advice to subordinates and ability to motivate subordinate staff 9. Strong understanding of principles of gender equality and principles of gender mainstreaming 10. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with people in a polite, courteous and cooperative manner, with high standards of ethical conduct.
