Job description :
Working place: Hanoi, Vietnam.
- Approximately 50% of the time the physician will be stationed with VAAC.
- Approximately 50% of the time they will be stationed with CF.
Tasks:
- Assist VAAC in operation of CF HIV care and treatment program as defined by the specific objectives of the CF work plan. These activities will include:
* preparation and arrangement of travel documents necessary to carry out CF clinical mission
* assist in monitoring and evaluation of CF training and interventions
* assist in review of current work plan targets and development of subsequent plans
- Work with CF clinical team to provide mentoring services to HIV treatment sites throughout Vietnam
- Maintain patient database
- Assist CF clinical team in providing didactic training on various aspects of HIV and tuberculosis care and treatment to health care workers: including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and laboratorians
- Specific program assistance required in the areas of Pediatric HIV, PMTCT, and tuberculosis-HIV infection
- May be required to serve as both oral and written interpreter, including translation of documents from CF into Vietnamese and from VAAC into English
Working conditions:
- The physician will work 5 full-time days a week under primary supervision of the CF clinical director.
- While at VAAC, the physician will be under the secondary supervision of the director of the department of HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment.
- The physician will travel throughout Vietnam to visit clinical treatment sites and may be required to travel on the weekend.
Training:
- The physician will be provided with regular one-on-one teaching from the CF clinical experts. A three month training agenda will be developed at the start of employment.
- The employee will be expected to attend and participate in training courses/conferences on a regular basis.
- Self study on topics associated with HIV patient care and treatment will be assigned.
Performance indicators:
- A basic knowledge examination about aspects of HIV infection and treatment will be given at the start of employment.
- An initial performance review will occur after three months with further employment dependent on outcome.
- All working documents and electronic communications should be shared as requested by CF clinical staff and management
- The physician must be able to function smoothly in both work settings and demonstrate a steady improvement in informational and functional capacity.

Qualifications :
Job Requirement:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a medical doctor (HIV or other infectious diseases preferable)
- The physician should have a medical degree, doctor of medicine, from an accredited medical university.
- A working knowledge of and/or preferably a degree in public health.
- A working knowledge of program monitoring and evaluation
- Confident and excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to help others
- Computer skills and competence in electronic communication
- Proficiency in verbal and written English and Vietnamese
