1. DEFINITIONS
* BUC - Business Unit Coordinator
* BUM - Business Unit Manager
* BUD - Business Unit Director
* DBM - Director of Business Management
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
* It shall be the responsibility of the BUC to lead and drive all business, commercial and operational aspects relating to a business unit.
* The BUC acts as key deputy of the BUM and assumes all of associated responsibilities which are delegated to him/her from above.
* The BUC will assume the lead role in providing directional and operational leadership to the business unit members.
* The BUC shall handle assigned projects independently and have total responsibility to lead/drive these projects to conclusion. Where deemed necessary by the BUM, the BUC shall seek authorization and/or approval from the BUM to deliver on the allocated project objectives.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION
* Maintain the long-term profitability of each individual profit center or business unit through attentive management of the following key processes: Account Receivables, Material Inventory Management (Days of Inventory), Non-Recurring Expenses, Return Material Authorization, Customer Claims tracking, Customer Purchase Orders and SAP Sales Order maintenance.
* Propose, negotiate and manage the customer pricing strategy and coordinate the development of all aspects of quotations including manufacturing, materials, test, packaging, tooling, freight and duties. The BUM/BUD will have the final approval and ownership of all quotes and proposals.
* Monitor and influence the day-to-day production of all assemblies within the individual profit center of business unit, including timely delivery, quality, process conformance and test procedure adherence.
* Evaluate and implement changes to any assembly in the individual profit center or business unit, including volumes, schedules, engineering changes and all other variations to a project.
* Drive cost reductions for any assembly in the individual profit center or business unit through material sourcing evaluations, manufacturing effectiveness evaluations, tooling design reviews and design evaluations.
* Be responsible for identifying and grooming potential candidates within the workcell for succession planning and future promotions / development opportunities.
* To communicate clear and concise customer requirements to the Workcell members and provide leadership and direction to ensure customer requirements are achieved and delivered on time.
* To convey limitations and constraints of manufacturing and propose amicable solutions to satisfy customer needs and requirements.
* To provide recommendations on the supply chain design and put forward ideas and suggestions for improvements in this area to the BUM and his/her materials personnel.
* Assist the BUM/BUD in negotiating and agreeing to a legal contract with the customer. Where possible, the BUC/BUM should ensure that the negotiated terms are as close to those in the standard Jabil MSA as possible.
* To drive Customer Satisfaction as a top priority within the business unit and ensure that the customers QBR score is within satisfactory limits or ideally Best-in-Class.
