Report to: LAC Manager
Responsibilities:-
The LAC Training Manager supervises the LAC Training Officer and LAC Paralegal Teams in the conduct of training on Thai national laws, policies and regulations, the Thai justice system, camp laws, refugee legal and human rights issues and human rights mechanisms, and other issues affecting the rights of refugees. Training may be provided to refugees, camp-related institutions and committees, Thai authorities, and/or other CBO’s and NGO’s. The LAC Training Manager also performs a wider liaison role between the LAC project and project beneficiaries.
* Conduct training for members of refugee Camp Committee, Security Committee, Justice Committee, related Thai authorities, CBOs, NGOs, and refugees in camp on human rights, related Thai government policies, laws and regulations, camp laws, human rights mechanism, Thai justice system, and other issues affecting their rights.
* Gather questions and problems faced by refugees and assist other LAC staff to develop and improve training modules and materials for specific audiences.
* Liaise regularly with camp committee and justice committee, related local authorities, officers of UNHCR, other NGOs (Thai, international and refugee), lawyers, and other relevant organizations/persons, about refugee legal and human rights issues.
* Establish linkage and maintain close cooperation with Refugee Leaders, Camp Committee, local government authorities, UNHCR, NGOs and CBOs.
* Directly supervise the LAC Training Officer, and the LAC Paralegal Teams, in the conduct of this work.
* Prepare monthly activity plans and reports.
* Represent IRC officially at assigned meetings or conferences.
* Perform other assignments including attending meetings, representing IRC and other tasks as required.
